Blaencyswch - a haven for flora & fauna

The grounds at Blaencyswch cover 8 acres, set within the beautiful Ceredigion countryside. Each cottage has its own south-facing private garden, enclosed with hedges for privacy.

Surrounding the cottages are wider landscaped grounds, comprising extensive lawns, formal planting and areas set aside for nature to run wild.

The estate is a haven for a huge amount of wildlife. From Hedgehogs to Hares, we have wrens nesting in the drystone walling, and Kites circling overhead. At night the owl's hoot is a comforting reminder that you are somewhere special.

We are very much 'dog people' and are delighted that we have plenty of space for guests to bring their dogs along with them on holiday.

We have two fields which guests are welcome to use. Our upper field is enclosed with stock fencing, which provides a relatively secure area for obedient dogs to be exercised off-lead. The upper field is kept with short mown grass for this purpose. Escape artists or dogs with poor recall are welcome, but on a lead or long-line please.

Please note: we only accept dogs that have regular flea and worm treatment. We do not accept aggressive or destructive dogs.

Within the upper field we have an enclosed area with picnic bench, positioned to make the most of the far reaching views. Here guests can enjoy alfresco drinks or dining whilst keeping their dogs close by.

During the summer months, the connecting lower field is left for the grass and wild flowers to grow. We mow a meandering path around this field so that guests can enjoy it without getting soaked trouser legs! Guests are welcome to walk their dogs around the lower field on-lead.

Gardens & grounds for guests to enjoy....
